Rich Tatum  > Art > Low-Light Photos
Turns out I do a lot of my photography at night and in consequentliy very low light situations. This is mostly because I work during the day and only come alive at night.

Some of these photos were made indoors at night, that earned them a spot here. I hate using flash, so all my indoor shots were made with available light.

Many of these photos were made with the assistance of a hand-held LED flashlight. If you want a challenge, take a walk at night with your camera and see what you can find and spotlight with your flash.

Enjoy!

Rich Tatum > I Love Hue
Somethink about the pristine and sharp-edged newness of wrapped crayons just invites me to pick one up to draw a nice, brightly colored line. I think they appeal to my kids, too. These crayons always find their way home to reside in the cracks of our furniture, or to melt in the heat of an enclosed car.

But, still, you gotta love crayons.

Rich Tatum > Climbing to the light.
If I were a bug, and if I were climbing the wall of a restroom somewhere in Muskegon, it would look something like this. I think.

Rich Tatum > Moss. (Or, photography for the lazy.)
Sitting in a recliner, fiddling with my camera, I look around. what do I see? A plant no more than two feet fromme. And, even better, some tangly, twisty moss in the pot.

Before the observation has even been completed, I have already taken the shot.

I am supremely lazy.

Rich Tatum > The Car Wash Dancer
Goin through a car wash late one night, I enjoyed the sultry dance of a writhing snake of water on my windshield. I caught this with, of course, a hand-held LED flashlight and my trusty camera.

Oh, there was some Rain-X involved in the affair, too.

Rich Tatum > The Birthday Cat's Meow
We celebrated AJ's seventh birthday the other day. Here's the birthday boy looking very satisfied about his cake, his snuffed candles, and the giant pile of presents just outside the camera's view.

AJ made out like a bandit, too. Inline skates (on sale!) a helmet, pads, a constellation projector, puzzles, books, shirts, and more. The only thing missing from the pile, I think, was the constant gift perennial: socks.

I love it when we're able to give to our kids. And with a new job coming up, we were able to actually purchase a few gifts this time around, and we had a great time.

Happy birthday boy!
